A Case of Alopecia Totalis with Onychodystrophy

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of Alopecia totalis, associated with Onychodystrophy was presented. She was a 16 months old female infant.
The episode of baldness on. head and eye brow was found at birth, and also the onychodystrophy of her nails and toes was noted.
On histological examination the biopsied specimen showed the min?mal hyperkera osis with flattening of the rete pegs and displacement of the hair follicles. In the other areas some of follicle canals contained the lanugo like keratin debris.
Except this skin manifestations she was a well nourished and well developed infant without any abnormality on her physical examination.
Now she is placed into the medication of Triamcinolone with observation of its effectiveness.
